WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
You will work in our Seoul office as part of our Advanced Industries team, focused on Automotive & Assembly topics.
Our Advanced Industries practice consists of three of McKinsey’s core sectors - Automotive & Assembly, Aerospace & Defense, and Advanced Electronics. The Automotive & Assembly practice serves clients along the full automotive value chain and industrial players focused on assembling complex products (e.g., agricultural, construction, mining machinery, robots, trains and vessels)
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will work with McKinsey consultants to conduct end-to-end research and help solve specific business problems of our client.
In this role you will source information from internal as well as secondary data sources, analyze and synthesize this information, and create well organized, concise end products in McKinsey format. Together with your research colleagues from around the world you will develop and codify knowledge on new, emerging topics that are relevant to the firm and our clients in the industry.
You will have a chance to act as a thought-partner to client teams and clients in order to prioritize research activities which will have the most impact. In addition to that you will also get a chance to work on research for the latest disruptive topics viz. Autonomous, Connected vehicles, Electrification and Shared Mobility (ACES) to develop a forward-thinking and integrated perspectives, industry expertise and proprietary research to help our clients navigate the mobility revolution.
There is flexibility to hire at either the Junior Research Analyst or Research Analyst level, depending on the qualifications of the candidate.

- Experience in Automotive, Machinery, or related industries is helpful but not required
- Experience in a research role with a research or consulting firm is a plus
- Superior problem-solving, analytical and quantitative skills
- Solid understanding of economic, financial, and general business concepts and terminology
- Ability to accomplish work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Professional attitude, work standards, and service orientation
- Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with people at all levels in an organization
- Strong computer skills (Word, Powerpoint) and advanced Excel skills; VBA, Tableau, Alteryx is not required, but is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Korean
- Conversational in Japanese is a plus
